After a month around trip to Europe, London and America, actress Preity Zinta returns back to Mumbai. With her comeback to the city, the girl known for her straight from heart talk spoke about her break up with Ness Wadia.

Over the tour to US and Europe she spent time with family and friends. “How nice to know that I was missed. I feel good when people ask where I have been. No, I hadn’t gone for good. I basically follow my heart. If I want to do something, I go for it, no matter what the repercussions. I had been traveling to America, London and Europe for a little less than a month,” said Preity.

She spent good time with brother and his daughter in LA as well as with best friend, Shagun Khanna and her daughter in London. Later two weeks in Europe. Preity found a company of Mumbai girls like Malaika Arora, Surily Goel, Gauri Khan and Seema Khan in London and moved on to Paris with Surily.

Rumors are that she planned such a big trip just to heal her broken heart. On that note she replied with a smile, “I needed a break and I took one. Of course, I’ve gone through a break-up, but that’s personal. The only reason I speak to the press about what’s happening in my life is because I’m linked with the wrong men. Now, I want to work so hard that people discuss my professional life rather than my personal life. You can invite people to your home but you don’t take them to your bedroom. I’ve to preserve a certain part of me away from the limelight.”

Over her break up with Ness Wadia she said, “But then that’s life. It’s filled with unpredictable twists and turns. I have come out of the relationship smiling. Every experience in life helps you grow. You preserve the positive and move on. There’s no point dissecting it. Everything is so temporary. Even a Michael Jackson dies,” she said.

Giving attention to the kind of indignity given to MJ even after his death, she said, “That is really heartbreaking. He was a one-in-a-billion entertainer. Why go looking for skeletons in his closet when he’s gone? Why not celebrate his genius and enjoy his music? If this can happen to Michael then who are we? He gave so much of himself to his art. Finally, what did he get?”

No matter her heart is broken, she has acquired the required peace in it. “Either they’re writing about my broken heart or calling me a home breaker. I don’t care. I’ve to live with my conscience. I’ve to look myself in the eye in the mirror. I need my space. For those who want to know how I am, I am fine,” added Preity Zinta.

But now what about her association with IPL? “I’ll only be there for the matches as opposed to being constantly involved with the IPL activities. The first two years, I gave all of myself to IPL. I’m on the verge of signing two new films with very big banners. But before that, Main Aur Mrs Khanna with Salman will be out. Though I’ve a cameo in the film, it is an interesting role,” said Preity.

Her mother has come to Mumbai to stay with her and the actress loves spending time with her. “There’s no place like home, especially with mom in it,” she adds.

Talking about Ash, Vipul said, “Akshay and I have worked together for sometime now and we share a comfort level. Working with Ash has been a revelation in this film. She has been very dedicated. A film that travels in time is not easy for actors. Also, both Akki and Ash are a very good-looking couple and make an attractive on-screen pair. She is certainly one of the best actresses that I have worked with.”

Bachchan Bahu to make her debut on Small Screen

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going to make her debut on television. Aishwarya is very busy with shoots of her upcoming movies, but if things go well, she will be hosting a show on national television. It is going to be a chat show and the remaining logistics are yet to be discussed. The debut of this beautiful actress is part of a family deal. According to a source, “right from the time they signed Amitabh Bachchan for Bigg Boss, the channel had decided to have Abhishek and Aishwarya as well.”

Aishwarya was unavailable for comment, her spokesperson denied any such news. However, the channel’s spokesperson said, “no comments.”

Katrina Aims For Powerhouse Performance

Actress Katrina Kaif who is in jubilant mood now days due to success of her recent film (New York) feels that she has no more needed to show her legs to win notices. Till now it was believed that the pretty actress is winning notices due to her glamorous looks and short skirts. But her recent flick New York shown her new side as an actor, for which she received much praise makes the actress satisfied as an actor.

“At least they can’t say my latest film is doing well because Katrina Kaif wore a short skirt. I don’t need to show leg to win notices,” said Katrina.

Her hunger for giving a powerful performance and do it better every time is also increased. “I’m not ruthlessly ambitious. But, there is greed in me to want to do better work. In that sense, I’m exactly like Akshay Kumar. I deeply admire that quality in him. He has done over a 100 films, yet Akshay still has the same hunger in him to strive to do better,” added the actress.

The actress doesn’t even accept that she is a Bollywood’s lucky mascot. “Saying I’m just lucky kind of annihilates all the hard work that I have put into my films,” she says. “It also derides the capability of my directors. A script makes a film work, a lot of hard work goes into getting the right script, and to just attribute a film’s success to my good luck is not right,” adds Katrina.

Katrina also has received praises from her competitors like Kareena Kapoor often said that she is hot property. But Katz is not stopping over that praise, who is much aware about her competition - Kareena, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Asin - and don’t want to slip from the ride.

Success of any film doesn’t go in her head and holds foot on ground even after receiving praises. “Each successful film motivates me to work harder. For example, in Prakash Jha’s Rajniti I’m the sole girl with powerhouse performers like Naseeruddin Shah, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai and Nana Patekar. Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor, my two other co-stars, are also very good actors and my immediate aim is to raise the bar as far as my performance goes,” says Katz.

She is not even in hurry to do lots of films at a time. Next she is coming up with just three films Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Rajniti and De Dana Dan.

Katrina pays gratitude to Lord Ganesha

Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif visited the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal of Khetwadi’s 12th Lane on Wednesday to pay her gratitude to Lord Ganesha. As Ganapti is the presiding God of Mumbai and Katz has lot to be thankful for the city, her feet led towards the Mandal.

A sincere devotee has been seen in Katz as she had covered her head, joined her hands and bent down on her knees touching the feet of the idol with her forehead. Soon after noticing that the beautiful actress is there the other devotees made her to be snapped in their cell phones. Katz has also often visited the Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi.

“Being a part of the puja here is a small gesture on my part to express my gratitude,” said Katrina.

Apparently the Mandal is one of the 14 Mandals that Times of India has short listed from 534 mandals for a competition named Utsav Moorti Sanman. TOI conducts the competition every year giving four prizes- Best Ganpati Idol, Most Eco-friendly Ganpati Idol, Best Ganpati Mandal and the Most Visited Ganpati Mandal.

Katrina to remake a French film

News about Katrina Kaif turning into producer has doused off. But the new buzz is that she is remaking a French love story À la folie… pas du tout which means He loves me… he loves me not. French actress Audrey Tautou played the protagonist in the original film and had received much acclaim for it. However for the Hindi version of the film, Katz will play the protagonist.

A source said, “Katrina fell in love with the film after she saw it. In fact, she wanted to make the film the very moment she saw it. The actress has already spoken to the concerned people and will acquire the rights of the film soon.”

Katrina is aiming Vipul Shah to direct the film. “The film is filled with emotions and Katrina strongly believes that Vipul will be able to translate it onto the big screen. The film is a love story about a young artist who sees the world through rose-tinted glasses, especially when it comes to her love,” added the source.

Other cast of the fill is not yet decided, however shooting for the film will start next year. When asked to Katrina, she denied the news, but a source close to her says that it’s true.

Katrina made her Bhojpuri debut

Prakash Jha, a bollywood filmmaker launched a TV channel called ‘Morya’ last week. The entire cast of the upcoming movie, ‘Rajneeti‘ was present there along with Bhojpuri stars Ravi Kisan and Manoj Tiwari. Prakash Jha asked Katrina to speak in Bhojpuri. A source said, “Considering that Katrina speaks Hindi with difficulty, she had goose bumps when she was asked to speak in Bhojpuri. However, Prakash gave her three tutors Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kisan and Manoj Bajpai. Katrina was willing to learn. They could manage to teach her only one line as it was difficult for her to understand.”

Manoj Tiwari confirmed this incident and said, “It was quite funny, Katrina was excited about it, so the three of us coached her to address the crowd with ‘Ka Haal ba Patna’. She diligently wrote it down on paper and mugged it. However, instead of saying ‘Haal ba’ she kept on repeating ‘Halba’ which sounded like ‘Halwa’. Bajpai and Ravi kept pulling her leg. We all were impressed with Katrina’s determination.

Vishal Bradwaj is putting in all the time and effort for seven different looking husbands for Priyanka’s role in his film Ek Bataa Saath’ . Vishal wants all the seven husbands to look as different as possible. Priyanka Chopra plays the protagonist in the movie and kills all her husbands. A close source revealed, “Vishal wants each actor to look different from the other. So far, he has finalized Mohanlal, Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham and Arshad Warsi. As is evident from the casting till now, each actor has a distinctive look from skin color, body structure, height, and personality. The script of the film is unconventional.”

The source also said, “Irrfan Khan might be signed to play the fifth husband. During his recent visit to the US, Vishal had zeroed in on a foreigner, who will play one of Priyanka’s husbands.” Vishal Bradwaj wrote Ek Bataa Saath. Vishal liked Ruskin Bond’s Susanna’s Seven Husbands, which the writer developed into his film script.

Shahid and Kareena break their Silence

Recently, Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan hugged and patched up; even Kareena has ended her cold war with Aishwarya. All of this happened at Karan Johar’s birthday party last year. Karan has taken his role as Bollywood Peacemaker to the next level. Last week, Karan played a catalyst, making Shahid and Kareena not only acknowledge each other’s presence, but also strike up a conversation. The patch up took place at Shahrukh’s bungalow, Mannat, where King Khan had his celebration of My Name Is Khan.

A source said, “Shahid and Kareena came face to face, everyone thought they would simply ignore each other like they have done so many times in the past. But this time, Karan happened to be present right there and instead of marching past each other they slowed down for a bit. And the rest, as they say, is history.” They both had a warm exchange and even Saif joined them later. Kareena and Shahid were both unavailable for comments. Kareena’s spokesperson said, “Kareena has no problem with anybody, including Shahid.”
